I'm been using the Chamonix by BRIEL and absolutely love the machine. We had the machine up and running in 5 minutes (that included: rinsing the reservoir and attachments, plugging in the electrical cord, pouring the water into the reservoir and turning it on). Every part of the espresso maker is working wonderfully. The reasons for purchasing this machine was so I could have a reservoir of water and also to use the espresso pods in order to make numerous individual cups of espresso for our dinner parties. It is very easy to clean afterwards, and in just a minute or two after turning it on, just put the espresso pod in the pod holder, insert and turn, press the button, and in 20-30 seconds you have a cup of espresso. I am very satisfied with the product and would encourage others to purchase it as well.

Very good machine, we like especially that we can make individual cups of espresso. The machine is very easy to clean. I found it slightly expensive compared to other pump espresso machines, that why I didn’t give it 5 stars

I bought one Briel Chamonix and one Briel Lido as gifts to my relatives. Both machines make better espresso with a richer crema every time and are much easier to operate than my much more expensive Isomac machine. However, one Briel machines was defective at the start and the other a few weeks later. Both had to be sent for repair and are now working ok

It's a good machine; I have upgraded the portafilter basket to a non-pressurized version, intended for the Solis SL-70. I can make better espresso now, using a 53mm Tamp and about 14g of espresso. I have gotten the hang of frothing milk. But I wish you could just remove the Turbo Frother. This was a great machine to start out with, but I will soon move on to something more professional. Despite the pressurized portafilter basket and turbo frother, Briel will always have a special place in my heart.

Owned the machine for two years - sporadic use - but problem free. It makes a good espresso shot for a unit of this price. It produces shots superior to what you get in a restaurant. Don't expect it to match up with your favorite coffee shop. I switch between ESE pods and the basket. Great for a starter unit. I can't speak too much regarding the steaming wand - I like my espresso unaltered - but when I have used it, it works great.
